School Closure Move to Online Learning Jan 2021


We will move to remote learning via Seesaw and your child's class teacher will be in contact.

We will continue to use resources which have been in use in the first term:

  • Seesaw on a daily basis:
    • Teachers will send work to pupils
    • Pupils submit work on the app.
    • Parents and staff can communicate using the app.
  • Zoom: Times and days will differ depending on classes. Invites will be emailed to parents. See also our Zoom procedures under policies. School assemblies will be via Zoom also.
  • IXL: Online learning app for Maths and English. Teachers will continue to assign activities.
  • Online school books Links listed below.


If for any reason your child cannot take part, please let Múinteoir know.

If you have mislaid any login codes, please contact the school.

If you find that your child is under too much pressure with the work, please send múinteoir a message. Alternatively, if you feel your child is not getting enough work, please let múinteoir know, asap, so as more can be sent on.

Children with special needs/ Páistí le riachtanais speisialta

We understand that this is quite a difficult time for all our páistí and in particular páistí with significant additional needs. Our support teachers will be working with the class teachers in order to best support the needs of your child. They will be in contact with you. If there are any concerns, please don't hesitate to make contact.

Our SNAs will also be in contact with parents of children in their care to support your child during the school closure.

The Department of Education recently informed us that provisions are being made for the return to in-school teaching and learning on Thursday 21st January for pupils with the most significant additional needs in mainstream classes. When we have further clarification, we will be in contact with parents of pupils concerned.



School Assembly/ Tionól Scoile

Tionól scoile will take place each Friday:

9:00 for Naíonáin Bheaga-Rang a 2

9:25 for Rang a 3- Rang a 6.

We will run a competition each week and winners will be announced then.


As you are aware some books were already sent home. The rest will be available for collection on Wednesday 13th January. Times sent via email.

If your child needs pencils, pens, crayons please inform Múinteoir via Seesaw and these will be included in the pack.

If you have not collected your child’s books yet, please contact the school/múinteoir.

How to log onto online learning platforms using PlayStation or XBOX:

XBOX: Press the Xbox button on the controller to open the guide, and then select “My games & apps”. Here, you need to find Microsoft’s internet browser Microsoft Edge.

From the PS4 home screen, scroll to the library. Then, click on applications. If you scroll down the apps, you’ll see a “www” sign circled by small dots. Click on that, and you're online.
